Anti-Smog Pancakes

Jalapeno chilies are extremely high in vitamin C. These spicy pancakes help to build resistance to colds and flu. Also known as “anti-smog pancakes,” when you are feeling tired and “dragged out” due to air pollution, these spicy pancakes will pick you up.

2 1/3 cups garbanzo flour
1/3 Tbsp. clove powder
1/3 Tbsp. cinnamon powder
1/3 Tbsp. cardamom powder
¼ Tbsp. ground black pepper
2/3 Tbsp. fennel seeds
½ Tbsp. caraway seeds
½ Tbsp. crushed mint leaves
1/3 to 1 ½ Tbsp. crushed red chiles (some like it hot!)
½ Tbsp. salt
1/3 Tbsp. black salt
2/3 Tbsp. parsley flakes
2/3 Tbsp. sweet basil
1/3 Tbsp. turmeric
2/3 Tbsp. cumin powder
½ medium onion, chopped
3 large cloves garlic, chopped
1/3 Tbsp. finely chopped ginger root
1-2 Jalapeno chiles, chopped

In a Blender puree onion, garlic, ginger and jalapenos with 1 cup water. Mix other ingredients with about 1 more cup of water to make a thick batter. Stir in jalapeno mixture. Fry in ghee and cook like pancakes. Serve with yogurt or chatnee.
