My name is Susan Rhodes AKA Shanti Akal (Undying Peace). I am happily married and a mother of five amazing children. I am a woman in long term recovery and have been so since 12/16/2012. I began my journey with Kundalini Yoga in April of 2015. It was a suggested from one of the women I was working in recovery with. I had an idea of what I thought it would be like, however, my experience far surpassed what I had expected. I continued to come to class when I could. I absolutely loved the way Kundalini played into my recovery process. I decided to take the teacher level one training that was offered at Sage Hills in May of 2016. I became certified in October 2016. I love teaching and my hope is that I can share these teachings with someone who may be going through what I have been through. Kundalini Yoga has helped me find and love myself. Yogi Bhajan say’s that “If you want to learn something, read about it. If you want to understand something, write about it. If you want to master something, teach it.” I want to master Kundalini Yoga! I especially love working with people who have struggled with or are currently struggling with addictions. My goal is to teach and share the Kundalini experience with those who want to learn more. In doing so I will also grow. I am going to continue on with my teacher training level two in June 2017. I hope to see you on my journey!
